Professor Bezalel Bar-Kochva from Tel Aviv University, Israel Professor Bezalel Bar-Kochva is recognized world-wide as one of the leading authorities on Ancient Judaism and as the leading figure in research of Hellenistic Judaism. He changed the face of scholarship in the study of major issues in ancient Jewish history, especially in the study of the Maccabaean and Herodian era as well as in the perception of Jews and Judaism in the Greek and Roman world. He is writing now his lifework: three volumes on the history of the Hasmonaean state. Professor Bar-Kochva is hosted by Professor Schuller, University of Konstanz, and Professor Hollander, University of Frankfurt
